Calling the 21st century a digital era would not be wrong. Every source of our information has altered its mean: from newspapers, journals, catalogs and magazines to websites, apps, and TV.  Marketers, businessmen, film industry and renowned brands promote their products through digital marketing.

Not long ago, TV ads had made a revolutionary change and it became a reliable source of information and reporting. However, now the web media has subdued the television.

Today, I will talk about the facts validating the power of web media over print media:

·        Investors’ Dream:

The investors intending to start a new business accumulate information about the latest consumer trends through web media. This media has become one global platform and a mediator between consumers and markets. Take the example of Scondar.com that sells different types of connectors, wire and cable assemblies, and other products through the web successfully.

·        Marketers Approach the Consumers Easily:

Marketers can now easily target their consumers. Web surveys accumulate information about preferences and likes and dislikes of the public in just a few clicks. They help manufacturers to improve their product’s quality and marketers to sell it efficiently.

·        Affordability and Easy Access:

Smartphone companies have started to manufacture affordable phones, so these could reach in every household. The Internet is available at every nook and corner of the world. When you can get books, articles, news, movies, journals, online tutorials on every single subject on the internet for free, will you spend money to buy something exclusively to get information?

·        Audience and Sharing:

Almost all websites have toolbars to share news, articles, quotes, jokes or any general statistics and facts on social media or emails. In today’s fast-paced world, no one has time to discuss things in length. People find anything relatable or interesting and share them with friends and family to stay connected and spread the message.

·        Any Time and Anywhere:

Web media keeps people updated no matter where they are, the world is in their hands. People stay connected with their preferred social media applications and websites and receive their dose of information first hand.

·        Voice Your Opinion:

Web media has given voice to people. It certainly has empowered people with the right to represent themselves and take a firm stand against something they do not believe in. It has brought justice and neutrality to the lives of commoners. Now the culprits cannot get away with crimes. Mobile videos and MMS are more authentic against crimes than written evidence. Law enforcing agencies even encourage the public to record and send them any incident of injustice and crime.

Web media has given a boost to businesses, introduced new academic and professional fields. On the other hand, it is being used to spread disputable and obstructive information. So, anything we hear or read on the web might not always be true. We should not believe in rumor mills. I suggest before completely believing anything we read on the web, we authenticate it from different sources.
